In this exciting series, students will discover how math comes to life in the natural world. Through hands-on exploration and
observation, they will investigate symmetry, patterns, and
structures found in nature. Students will explore the fascinating
Fibonacci sequence and see how it appears in flowers, seeds,
pinecones, and more. They will also learn about the “Golden Spiral” and identify real-world examples of this beautiful pattern in nature. Along the way, students will be introduced to the Italian mathematician Leonardo Bonacci (also known as Fibonacci) and his important contributions to mathematics. Through discussion and discovery, students will examine animals and natural objects to uncover symmetry, geometric shapes, and even fractal patterns. They will also create nature-inspired art projects that connect creativity with mathematical thinking. This series encourages students to see math not just as numbers, but as a powerful tool for understanding and appreciating the world around them. The cost includes all instruction and materials.
